Collection includes portraits and publicity photographs of Juanita Joaquina Miller, scenes from San Francisco Bay Area theatrical productions, views taken in Oakland, Calif. (including Joaquin Miller Park and Woodminster Amphitheatre), snapshots and commercial photogaphs depicting various dinners and other social events, and some 19th century family portraits. Joaquin Miller is depicted in only a few commercial postcards.

Juanita Joaquina Miller was the daugter of Joaquin Miller and wife Abbie Leland Miller. She was born in New York City in 1880. Miss Miller lived at Joaquin Miller's locally famous home, "The Hights," in Oakland, California, and was an active participant in the Oakland peforming arts community until the 1960s. Joaquin Miller, born Cincinnatus Heine Miller and known as the "poet of the Sierras," was a Calif. poet and playwright.
